Today, we celebrate an unforgettable milestone for Sydney – and for you. We are beyond thrilled to announce that the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS is now the 7th member of the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors! In just three years, we’ve done what seemed impossible, and we couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you - our heartbeat!

This achievement is about more than a marathon – it’s about you, our runners. First-timers, seasoned marathoners, locals, and travellers alike – every single one of you has made this possible. Your story has shaped our story. Your resilience, your dreams, and your dedication have lifted Sydney onto the world stage. From that very first step to the final finish line, you have built a legacy for Australia, one step at a time.

Our journey together has been nothing short of extraordinary. We’ve shared countless stories of triumph; of overcoming the odds; of courage. Every finish, every high-five, every moment shared has shown the world the heart of Sydney. Now, as we join the ranks of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, we know the story doesn’t end here. Instead, a new chapter begins, and it’s one that we’ll continue to write together.

To every runner, volunteer, cheer squad, partner and supporter – thank you for bringing us here. Thank you for believing in us, and for making Australian sporting history alongside us. Let’s continue this journey with pride, passion, and the spirit that makes Sydney one of a kind.
